14-19 education reform continues to build up pace with its implementation. Some local authority areas and regions are embracing the proposed MOG changes and developing their learning partnerships in advance of these changes.  This together with the increasing range of diplomas and pathway opportunities including FLT is making the landscape not only more diverse and complicated but with large variations across the country..

There are concerns about the take up of diplomas and concerted efforts going into improving the range and quality of advice within all the relevant sectors and institutions. Developing momentum in the new areas whilst also achieving the targets to grow learner numbers in work based learning will be a challenge to Government Departments and Agencies, schools, colleges and providers.

This conference will describe the current state of that landscape and throw light onto developments in diploma development, take up and IAG whilst identifying both the opportunities and difficulties faced by stakeholders in implementing the reforms and participating in the delivery.

Progress in all these areas and early feedback on diplomas will be covered alongside some case studies of emerging good practice in delivery.

Speakers:

The conference will be Chaired by James Wetz, presenter of the Channel 4 Dispatches Programme 'The Children Left Behind' (11, February 2008). Formerly a head teacher at two large comprehensive schools he is currently an educational consultant and researcher and a Visiting Fellow at Bristol University Graduate School of Education.

In addition to the key speakers from Government departments and agencies the conference will provide an opportunity to hear from speakers with direct experience in current 14-19 programmes and initiatives.

Who should attend?
